In an agency’s client accounts the dashboard does not name the vendor: the card and the page are called CRM, and the page lives at
/integrations/crm. Everything on this page applies the same way.Connecting
The app is installed from the GoHighLevel Marketplace. An agency installs it once, and GoHighLevel asks which sub-accounts to put it on.1
Install from the Marketplace
Choose the sub-accounts Whappy should run. You can add the app to more sub-accounts later, in GoHighLevel.
2
Land back in Whappy
If you are not signed in, Whappy asks you to Sign in or Create an account. The installation stays valid for 60 minutes.
3
Confirm
Whappy asks Connect this installation? and names the agency or sub-account and your account. Click Connect only if you started the installation yourself.
- Webhooks are set up automatically: there is no URL or secret to copy.
- The connection renews itself, so it does not expire.
- Inbound webhooks are signed by GoHighLevel.
Your plan for each client is chosen and charged in GoHighLevel. Changing a client’s plan in the Marketplace moves their limits in Whappy: there is nothing to change here.
The page can also connect a single sub-account with a Location ID and a Private Integration Token instead of the app. That option is shown only when the dashboard names GoHighLevel, so in an agency’s client accounts it is hidden. Use the Marketplace install.
What connecting gives you
- New contacts start a WhatsApp conversation automatically.
- No duplicates. Contacts are matched by their GoHighLevel id, so running a workflow again never creates a second lead.
- Routing by tag. Send contacts to different campaigns based on their GoHighLevel tags.
- Calendars on the appointment step. Your GoHighLevel calendars can be picked on the appointment step.
Connection
Shows the connected sub-account. If an agency set up the connection, the tab says your agency manages it and there is nothing to configure; use Contacts and Results. If GoHighLevel refuses a change Whappy sends, the tab shows Needs attention: results or bookings are not reaching GoHighLevel, usually because the connection is missing a permission. Check its permissions in GoHighLevel, then connect again. If the app was removed from the sub-account in GoHighLevel, the page says so: reinstall it from the Marketplace. Routing and field mappings are kept.Contacts: which contacts Whappy writes to
Whappy reads the tags on your GoHighLevel contacts. Under Which contacts, choose:- Only contacts with a tag below. Other contacts are ignored. If you add one of these tags later, the contact comes in then.
- Every new contact. Contacts with a tag below follow its rule; all others go to your default campaign.
Results: writing back to GoHighLevel
Turn on Send results to GoHighLevel. Whappy updates the contact when a conversation ends, a person takes over, the lead opts out, or the lead stays silent for 24 hours. The contact gets:- A note with the conversation.
- A tag with the result:
whappy-closed,whappy-human-takeover,whappy-no-replyorwhappy-opted-out. - The answers you link, in your own fields.
- The deal moved in your pipeline, if you choose one.
Answers to GoHighLevel fields
Click Link an answer, pick a Whappy answer and the GoHighLevel field it should fill. Answers you do not link stay in Whappy. The note and the tag are sent either way. If the tab says no contact custom fields were found, create them in GoHighLevel first, then reopen the tab.Pipeline
Choose a Pipeline to move the deal when the conversation ends, then a Stage for When the conversation finishes and for When a person takes over. Leave the stage as it is skips one of them. Leave the pipeline on Don’t create or move deals and your pipeline is never touched. This is the default. If the install fails
In an agency’s client accounts these messages say CRM instead of GoHighLevel.
