Leads reach a campaign in one of four ways: you add them by hand, you import a CSV, they arrive from an integration, or they come in from a Meta lead ad.

Adding a single lead

From the campaign’s Leads tab, open the actions menu and choose Add single lead. You need a name and a phone number in full international format; email and any of your own information fields are optional.

Importing from CSV

Choose Import from CSV. The import runs in five steps.
1

Upload

Select your file. The first row must contain column headers.
2

Map columns

Tell Whappy what each column is: Name, Phone, Email, one of your own information fields, or Do not import.Name and phone are required. Any other column can be mapped onto a custom field so the imported value is available to the AI assistant in conversation.
3

Preview and validate

Whappy checks the mapping and the data, and reports two kinds of problem: mapping issues, which send you back a step, and validation warnings on individual rows.
4

Import

Rows are added to the campaign.
5

Complete

A summary of what was imported.

File requirements

  • First row must contain column headers.
  • Name and Phone columns are required.
  • Email and custom information columns are optional.
  • Phone numbers must include country codes — for example +34644123456.
  • Maximum 1,000 rows per import.
Split a larger list into several files of up to 1,000 rows. Importing the same lead twice does not create a duplicate when the lead arrives from a connected integration, but a CSV row is taken at face value — check before re-importing a file.

Deleting leads

Delete one lead from its row’s actions menu, or tick several and use Delete selected. The selection bar shows how many are selected and lets you clear the selection. Deleting a lead removes its conversation history with it.

Test leads

A campaign can hold test leads alongside real ones so you can try a funnel end to end without messaging a real person.
For testing a whole funnel against realistic, difficult customers rather than one lead of your own, use Rehearsal instead — it runs six personas through the campaign and contacts nobody.
