# Offers

> Write a promotion once and let the assistant tell customers about it

An offer is something you are currently promoting. Write it once, and the assistant will mention it to any customer it is relevant to — and can push it out to everybody when you decide to.

Offers only exist on [campaigns for existing customers](/campaign/client-campaigns).

## Writing one

Go to **Offers → New offer**. There are four things to fill in, and only the description is required.

### What the offer is

Describe it the way you would explain it to a colleague:

> `20% off any subscription renewed before the end of the month`

> `Free delivery on orders over €50 until Friday`

You are not writing the message your customer receives. You are telling the assistant what is true, and it works out how to say it in conversation. It will quote your terms as written — it will not invent a discount or extend a deadline you did not give it.

### How the announcement opens (optional)

Pick one of your approved WhatsApp templates. A template is an opening message WhatsApp has approved in advance: it is required to start a conversation with a customer who has not written to you recently, and once they reply the assistant speaks freely.

You can leave this empty. An offer with no template is still mentioned whenever a customer asks about it; the template is only needed when you **announce** the offer, and the announcement screen asks for one if the offer does not carry it. Setting it here just saves choosing it every time.

<Note>
  The same generic template works for every offer. It only has to open the conversation; the assistant says what the offer actually is once your customer replies. You do not need Meta to approve a new template each time you run a promotion.
</Note>

If the list is empty, the campaign either has no number chosen yet — do that in **Settings** — or the number has no approved templates, which you sort out under **Integrations**. The composer tells you which.

### Photos and documents (optional)

Attach up to five files from your library — product photos, a menu, a price list, a floor plan. They are sent **in the order you pick them**, so a photo followed by a floor plan is a different message from the other way round.

<Warning>
  These files go out **as soon as your customer replies**, not with the announcement itself.

  To put a photo in the announcement itself, give its template a header file — see [opening with a photo or a file](/integrations/whatsapp#opening-with-a-photo-or-a-file). That one is fixed at approval time and travels with every message the template sends; these ones can change with the offer.
</Warning>

### Anything to collect (optional)

Add what you would like to know from an interested customer, one item at a time — type it and press Enter (or a comma): `preferred size`, `delivery date`, `which branch`. Pasting a list splits it for you.

Each becomes a question the assistant asks after presenting the offer. It asks conversationally, not as a form, and a customer who does not want to answer is left alone rather than chased.

## What happens when you save

The assistant writes the offer's wording and builds the short conversation that presents it: your files, then the offer, then your questions, then back to normal.

That takes a few seconds because the wording is being generated. If it fails, nothing is saved and **your description stays in the box** so you can adjust it and try again.

## While an offer is running

The assistant mentions a running offer whenever a customer asks something it is relevant to — "any deals on?", "how much is a renewal?" — whether or not you ever announced it.

<Note>
  Customers who have opted out of marketing are never told about offers, even if they ask a question an offer would answer.
</Note>

## When an offer ends

Set **Runs until** and the offer stops being promoted on that date. Leave it empty and it runs until you delete it.

For a few days after it ends, the assistant still knows it existed — so a customer who says "I saw your 20% off" gets told honestly that it has finished, instead of being told the business has never heard of it.

Ended offers stay on the Offers page, greyed out, so you can see what you have run.

## Changing an offer

You can edit an offer's **wording, end date, template and files** at any time.

You cannot change the description or the questions, because the conversation was built from them. To change what an offer *is*, delete it and write a new one — deleting removes everything it generated and leaves your files in the library.

## Sending it out

Writing an offer does not send anything. Every running offer has an **Announce** button on its card: it opens the announcement with that offer — and its template, if it has one — already chosen. See [Announcements](/campaign/announcements) for what happens next.
